Melbourne Flatpickers Group
The MFG is community based non-profit organisation with the goal of providing a meeting place for acoustic flatpicking guitar players of all levels to share information relating to flatpicking.
We meet on the first Monday of the month at the Princess Park Carlton Bowling Club - 109 Bowen Cres Princes Hill Parkville Cnr Park St and opposite the lake - parking is good.
There will be no MFG meeting in April as our normal meeting date falls on Easter Sunday. The next meeting will be "Monday May 4th at 7:30pm" and we will look at these three tunes:
1. Daley’s Reel 2. Devil Ate the Groundhog 3. Jim Connolly’s Jig :

11/9/14 - We had a great meeting last month. A great mixture of tunes and songs including a new tune Kim brought back from the States (Devil ate the Groundhog) which I'll send a tab out before the next meeting.
8/7/14 - The Webmaster is back! Hopefully things will stay up to date a little more now!

2/6/14: A great night at the June MFG meeting. The quality of the playing improves everytime! Jerusalem Ridge and Daley's Reel are now embedded in the repertoire and our new tune for the next meeting is Cherokee Shuffle in A Major. I'll send out a few versions a week before the next meeting. Meanwhile here are some Texas Swing progressions in G Major that work behind tunes like Bitter Creek and the Song Stay all Night (Tab Section)
