Melbourne Flatpickers Group
The MFG is community based non-profit organisation with the goal of providing a meeting place for acoustic flatpicking guitar players of all levels to share information relating to flatpicking.
We meet on the first Monday of the month at the Princess Park Carlton Bowling Club - 109 Bowen Cres Princes Hill Parkville Cnr Park St and opposite the lake - parking is good.
The next meeting of the MFG is Mon May 4th at 7:30pm at Princess Park Bowling Club
Let's go back over these ones as there are some different techniques to be learnt. (Resources available on this site)
02. Devil Ate the Groundhog
03. Jim Connolly’s Jig
And we’ll spend the second half of the May meeting jamming on tunes or songs from our list.
You can stray from the list but remember to pick standards that most people will know as it is and open jam aimed at sharing skills and info at an intermediate level.
2015 - Is it March already? There will be no MFG meeting in April as our normal meeting date falls on Easter Sunday.
11/9/14 - We had a great meeting last month. A great mixture of tunes and songs including a new tune Kim brought back from the States (Devil ate the Groundhog) which I'll send a tab out before the next meeting.
8/7/14 - The Webmaster is back! Hopefully things will stay up to date a little more now!
